Since this blog’s name is all about the everyday, I figured I’d finally post something normal/boring/about everyday life. I’ve had this idea for a while now but felt bogged down by which medium to use; tonight I decided that illustration was a good fit. I don’t have to create it in the moment (like a photograph) and I can practice my illustration more.
About this series
I love asking people what their favorite and least favorite part about something that’s recently happened, like a holiday break or a trip. I like the stories that come from it. So I’m starting to do that with my days. I guess I could leave out the bad parts, but it gives you a way better picture of how I spend my time & what I like/don’t. Plus, I make jokes when I’m uncomfortable, so it usually won’t be too much of a bummer! Okay, day 1!
Good. I’m a project manager at my job (along with being a designer) and it’s been a while since I got to schedule out a whole project! I’ve been doing a LOT of design, but I’ve been learning that to stay happy, I need variety in my day. So making a schedule felt great (especially because no one else in the office likes making check lists, and I like taking that “burden” for them) and, bonus: I didn’t finish, so I get to start my day tomorrow doing the same thing. 😁
Bad. I logged on to WordPress to make this post and realized all of the text on one of my posts was gone—it was just completely blank. Google was not turning up any answers, and this was one of my favorite posts, so I was losing hope real fast. The amount of ‘bummed’ I felt earned this its title: worse thing that happened today. I then found out that luckily WordPress archives all of the versions of your posts (although, it’s not very intuitive how to find this archive 😒) and I restored it ✨ Thanks but no thanks, WordPress.
Thanks for reading—this will be fun! I’m looking forward to it. 😊
